Wiley Ho

“(Last Year)…A week after the conference, I approached Anna Comfort O’Keeffe with my memoir manuscript; she loved it and offered me a book deal within two days.
Yup, just like that.

It turned out she needed a literary memoir and mine was a perfect fit for Douglas & McIntyre.

TO THINK I ALMOST DIDN’T TRY!

I almost let self-doubt stop me from pitching her. After having worked on my book for nearly eight years, I was super protective of it, terrified of rejection, and kept telling myself it wasn’t ready.

But something sparked in me at the conference, nudging me to go for it.

When I finally did … OMG!!! I’m still pinching myself.

It’s a Cinderella story on the face of it, stumbling upon my fairy godmother.”

So much can change in a year, and so many opportunities can happen in a weekend.

We and delighted to have essayist and DEBUT AUTHOR Wiley Ho back for this year’s conference.
